"I bought "Hang Up Sorrow and Care" on a complete whim. I was already a fan of Steeleye span, so I knew what miss Prior was all about. I popped the disk in my car player and was completly astonished at the incredible musicianship. The choice of songs and the order in which they are placed, the use of slide and electric guitars for Playford tunes, and I must not forget to mention the brilliant kazoo playing. This album till have you in stiches, and give you a chance to hear some real "popular" music of 17th and 18th centries England. Sometimes a whim is all a guy needs! Buy it! You won't be let down."

"I picked this cd up in store on a whim and love it! Although I don't care for much of the Volkisch (small pun) stuff being called Folk Rock (with the exception of Brass Monkey which probably isn't), I thought this cd was very entertaining. The traditionally done music is beautiful, but the pieces using the kazoo are delightful. I think it is the sort of music one would be hearing if traditional music had not largely disappeared from what is "popular music": just musicians having a damn good time and giving their listeners a damn good time."
