I'm So Sad (that the sound quality isn't much better)

"This is another nice little rare gem from 1968 that's been reissued on CD and on vinyl a couple times as imports of course. The original Saga pressing has the best sound quality however, not the best quality vinyl was used therefore exhibiting some slight background noise. As for this 2008 reissue on Sunbeam, I did enjoy the rare photos and story behind this group that was done with the bands involvement. Nowhere in the notes however, do they mention who possesses the original master tapes or if they even still exist? The sound is still mediocre, being dubbed again from a near mint copy of the album and the sound reproduction is a little bassy then the original album. Terry Thomas' licks are just awesome, (check out the solo on the 1st track) & listen to that guitar tone (a picture shows Terry using a 67' Gibson SG Special w/ P90's through a Marshall stack). "(I'm So) Sad", "Slowly The Day", "Living On A Hill" & "When I Was Young" are album highlights. Could have done w/o the bonus tracks. The drummers from Free and Thunderclap Newman were briefly in this group before enjoying success in the early 70's. This album is highly recommended for UK psych and should not be missed."
