"The track listing (all tracks are the title track - I Thought You Were My Boyfriend):
1. Extended Mix - 8:48
2. Dub Mix - 8:49
3. Single Edit - 4:08
All tracks remixed by Rob Rives.
Stephen Merritt's lyrics are brilliant yet melancholy at the same time. The mixes remind me of a bit of early Deep Dish. It's nice to hear a club mix that isn't tranced to death focusing on the song itself instead of annoying synths diluting the melody and vocals.
It's probably one of the best Pet Shop Boys songs that Pet Shop Boys had no involvement with.
It's only $3.98. If you're a fan of this style like myself, I can assure you that in the past you've probably paid more for less."

"It's not quite as melancholy as Mag Fields' typical fare.
It's not quite as clubby and dancey as typical club fare.
It's not quite as good as it could have been, but it's still better than the average sea of music out there. I absolutely concur with the first reviewer's praise - it retains all the goodness of the original song while injecting a dance-able beat to it. It's just too slow for my taste. Slow for dance music anyhow. Still, for the price, you just can't go wrong.
I love listening to it at home, but would probably get bored if it came on at the club."
