This is a very good "treasure" CD. Armin Jordan (who died at 74-old, 3 days before I wrote that review) conducted to Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and they peformed Mahler so magnificiently. It is really energic as like Bernstein (in the famous passages of brass) and very passionate as like Bruno Walter. It is a digital recording by Erato made in 1992. It is really worth-to-listening for any Mahlerians and any music lovers.



And, Max Reger and his Ballet Suite is such very colourful and pompous work. The orchestration is very good and it includes very fantastic dances of Pierrot, Harlequin, Colombine (even so, may be one think it is fantastic as like Carnival of Schumann). It is conducted by legendary Wagner conductor, Joseph Keilberth.



How a very curious situation, but both of the conductors, Jordan and Keilberth, died on opera podium! They had same fate... How is a pity... But both of them were so succesful at opera conducting.



Highly recommended.
