"I'm a big fan of foreign music, stuff that's not available in the USA. I was perusing another website to expand my library and stumbled upon Maia. This girl's Swedish (and half-Japanese), and has a GREAT sound! Her style (and singing) is very reminiscent of Regina Spektor (if you don't know who she is, check her out, too). Breathy voice, primarily piano, interesting uses of harmony, some backup singers/choirs, very unique and unpredictable. Certainly not "pop" music in the American sense, and highly recommended."
Stunning Use of Harmony

"Maia Hirasawa's debut CD is just brilliant. She has a unique way of using harmony in her songs. "Gothenburg" and "Mattis and Maia" are some of the best written songs on the CD. "And I found this boy" is a fun pop type song... addictive in a good way :). "Still June" is just breath taking. Maia Hirasawa's voice is so sweet and haunting I have no doubt that she will soon be a major international success. Good thing I burned this to my iPod or I would have worn out the CD."
Amazon is charging far too much for this CD

"I love Amazon and I find it to almost always have the best price. But not this time. I recommend going directly to the U.S. distributor for a fair price on this CD. Maia Hirasawa is simply terrific, so instead of paying [...] to Amazon for this wonderful CD, get one for yourself and a second as a gift for someone else, who will no doubt also become a Maia Hirasawa fan.
