"This low-priced 5-CD boxed set from Delta Leisure Group was released originally some years ago as a series of single CDs on the Horatio Nelson label, with the shorter banner "The Golden Age Of Swing", and had been compiled by the genial host of BBC Radio 2's Sunday Night At Ten, who also wrote the liner notes. Each CD has a distinct theme as follows, Twenty Greatest Hits; The Late Night Album; The Great Singers; Frank Sinatra & Tommy Dorsey; and The Jive Album. If you want the liner notes you have to download them from the website, but with a total running time of just over six hours and a selling price of just over $25 this has to be an absolute bargain. It should appeal both as a gap-filler for established collectors, and as a starter pack for new enthusiasts, and it should sell in large numbers. I hope Bygone Days will follow it up by asking Malcolm to compile a boxed set of The Golden Age Of British Dance Bands."
