Product DescriptionA visceral alloy of prog, punk and raw rock, they are forward-thinking and forward moving. Mammal are a band that is seriously going places, and fast. This claim is undeniably enforced by the band's first full-length release, 'Vol 1: The Aural Underground', in stores nationally on September 1st. The full-length live album, 'Vol 1: The Aural Underground' is an epic chronicle of the live experience that is Mammal. Recorded at the sold-out performance at Melbourne's the Evelyn in February this year, the album is raw, inspiring and very sincere. From opening track 'New Breed Judas' to the explosive finale and crowd favorite 'Hell Yeah!', 'Vol 1: The Aural Underground' is a consistently mind-blowing album that will endure to be the must-have local release of 2007. Talk about momentum. Mammal formed in March 2006 when irrepressible frontman Ezekiel Ox - disaffected with the implosion of his previous band Full Scale and looking for a new heavy rock project to vent his political spleen - hooked up with childhood buddy, Pete Williamson (lead guitarist for Pete Murray's Stonemasons). The guitar player had already been honing songs with session-style bassist Nick Adams, and the two were in need of a vocalist. From there, everything just clicked. Armed with a cache of slick licks, amphetamine-fuelled angular riffage and bare-knuckle songs, the trio quickly enlisted the concussive percussion of Zane Rosanoski, frenetic drummer for ethno-fusion act, Jika. The momentum continues. Now perfectly positioned to be the next big player in the Australian heavy rock scene, Mammal have the chops, the musos, the tracks and the live show to go all the way!
