"Mammal goes global with the 2008 Australian (Sept '09 everywhere else) release "The Majority." Listening in order, the album starts as a call to arms then shifts to a full-on battle cry, fighting for social justice.

This is not your everyday rock album. You will not mistake this for anything else you've heard before or ever will in the future. The comparisons to Rage and Tool are well intentioned, but not all too accurate. This is raw and powerful, yet still refined and pure. You will end the album feeling fully satisfied, but still somehow thirsting for more. Better give it one more spin through. After feeling every note pulse through your body once more, you know there is no turning back. This is real. This is music.

You will never look at anything the same way again. You will begin to immediately see through the lies of your leaders and representatives, you will understand there is so much more to life besides what car you drive, or if you have the lastest fashions in your closet, or how you style your hair. You will become part of the (r)evolution.

Musically, Mammal is well gifted and well versed. Pete, Zane, and Nick together have a very tight-knit sound, and are truly skilled professional musicians. The music itself is not simple, yet not over reaching or pretentious--it is very easy on the trained and untrained ear. Frontman Ezekiel Ox is an exceptional vocalist, but can also send out a powerful roar that will wake you up and command your attention. If you were to make a Mammal soup, you would start with a base of pure rock. Then sprinkle in some elements of funk and soul, followed with a dash of a classic rock/bluesy vibe, served in a bowl that has the violent energy of a late '70's/early '80's underground punk show. Serve hot with a side of freedom, justice, and equality.

Buy this album. Support independent music from independent artists. Support artists who choose to go their own way, giving us all music to enjoy that has not first been passed through a corporate filter. Then burn all of your money and turn against the vile scum who destroy the American Dream in the name of the bottom line. Love your neighbors as brothers, support your community through efforts, not monetary donations, contact your congressman and senators weekly, vote in every single election and make your voice heard. You too will find the strength to pull your head from the sand."
