"I grew up listening to a Nonesuch version of these pieces played with Mandolin and Harpsichord, so was excited to see this release. Although many of these pieces were composed by a giant of the Romantic Era, I would categorize them as Classical rather than Romantic. They are enjoyable melodies that you will probably find your self whistling when not listening."

"This rare CD featuring works for mandolin and piano by Beethoven, Hummel, and Hoffmann is well rendered by Galfetti and Fasolis. Those interested in the classical mandolin, in Beethoven's 'not so well known compositions', and in music of the early 18th century should find it immensely satisfying."
