"...then you already have all of the songs on this CD (plus two more that aren't on this collection). Great music from a great singer, but you might already have it!"

Life Is Unfair . . . and Mandy Barnett is Living Proof Why!

"Yes, life is very unfair, because Mandy Barnett should be a star . . . a HUGE star! Hers is a voice that comes along only once or twice a life time. "The Platinum Collection" (or any one of her solo CDs) is definitive proof of this supposition. Mandy's vocal range is tremendous, reminiscent of Patsy Cline, only richer and stronger. (Yes, you heard that right!) And her material is certainly up to the challenge. Mandy is adept at singing modern-sounding country music (e.g., "Now That's All Right With Me", ), traditional country music (e.g., "Falling, Falling, Falling"), and western swing (e.g., "Ever True, Evermore"), but her voice is particularly stunning when she unleashes a big, fat ballad (e.g., "A Simple I Love You", "Rainy Days", "The Whispering Wind"). If you are a fan of country music (or music, in general, for that matter), order this CD now! Mandy Barnett is a tremendously gifted vocalist."
The True Voice of Country Music

"Mandy Barnett is probably one of the greatest voices in Country music
today. Unfortunately, as great as she is, she has not received the
recognition that should be afforded to such an extraordinary talent.
This collection will more than convince you of that fact. Listening
to this CD will also demonstrate why she has been compared to the great
Patsy Cline. I dare say she even surpasses the lady in her vocal timbre,
giving her own unique treatments of standards and original tunes that
are filled with heartfelt and expressive interpretations, whether they
happen to be ballads, up-tempo, gospel or bluegrass influenced. This
exceptional young lady can-- and superbly does-- sing them all with
heartfelt emotions. I highly recomend this CD and guarantee that if
by chance you are not aware of this remarkable voice, once you hear
this wonderful CD, you will become as avid a fan of Ms Barnett as I
have become."
Needs better management

"I have both "Mandy Barnett" and "I've Got a Right to Cry" and I enjoy both very much. This recording is a low-cost alternative to buying the other two. The comments here are right on about her abilities although I would take exception to the notion that she is superior to Patsy Cline. I suspect that if the quality of Mandy's recordings seems higher than Patsy's, it has as much to do with technology as with talent. I think that given equal footing, it would be hard to distinguish between the two.
It's unfortunate that she has been mismanaged. Until she loses the "Patsy Clone" personna, she will never get the recognition she deserves. Musical knockoffs are seldom successful. (The only exception that comes to mind was Badfinger.) Nonetheless, I will probably buy everything she releases as soon as I become aware of it."
