"First off, I'm giving this 3 stars because on the tracks where Manowar does what they do best (Heavy Metal) this album is rock solid. The artistry and the virtuosity of the musicians is first rate. However, there is far too much chanting, synthesized orchestral instrumentals, and poetry for my tastes. When I play a heavy metal album, I want to hear heavy metal! Enough said!



If I would have heard this album when I was 15, I would have converted to Odinism much sooner than I did, but in my maturity and experience with the tradition, I am unable to take it seriously. The over-the-top and juvenile glorification of the Norse Myths made me laugh so hard when I first heard it, I nearly fainted. Even thinking about the words "Berserker Rage" makes me crack up now. This album has a permanent place in my music collection as a tribute to that eternal fifteen-year-old that slumbers in the heart of every metalhead."
