An Exotic Treat

"I still recall the first time I heard this album. I had recently had the opportunity to see Roberts play at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival and had decided to pick up some of his recorded music. When I popped the cassette into the player I was amazed by the rich and varied compositions I encountered. The pieces range from middle eastern influenced tunes such as Nebuchadnezzar to the bopesque The Governor. However, the most imaginative and illustratrive composition is the Album's title track. This album still ranks among my top ten and when I wish to take a journey out of the everyday or mundane this is usually the soundtrack I take with me."
