Fairly good, yet unremarkable Whiting album

"Margaret Whiting has one of the most lovely voices, and some of her music ranks with the best mid-century pop and jazz. Past Midnight is one of Whiting's most obscure albums, second only to Just a Dream, which I would still love to listen to. Thus, I waited a long time to finally listen to Past Midnight, which has been wonderfully recorded on this CD package. It is not Margaret's finest hour, but there are some good songs, such as My Old Flame and Ballad of the Sad Young Men. However, the major letdown of this album is the subpar arrangements. They are not worthy of such a great voice."
