"she can visit the great South American cities of one hundred years ago. Those coastal cultures, which now exist only in some forgotten period architecture, come to life here in her music. She is truly a genius at interpreting the music of this time and place. No one does it better. I wish I could travel with her back to the Lima or Santiago of 1900. Fortunately, these cultures live again thanks to her. You can hear the warm summer nights of these places, and the eternal struggle between men and women. My favorites are songs like Fina Estampa, about a gentleman walking down the street, or De Carne y Hueso, about a woman who simply cannot understand her (ex?)novio. Atahualpa Yupanqui wrote the poignant Tu Que Puedes Vuelvete, and Pradera interprets his song about a wanderer and a river, brilliantly. Some collections are made up of mostly ho-hum music, with a few selections that stand out. This CD is wonderful listening from beginning to end. I'm sad because I know that few will ever hear this music. But at least this musical treasure exists, and I got my copy."

"I discovered Maria Dolores Pradera quite by accident. She's fantastic. I like making my own compilations, with my favourite songs, but when I tried to chose some from this disc, it was not very easy. In the end I chose 8 songs, but I love all of them. The music is romantic, the guitar is played beautifully, the rhythms, either soft and sensual or a bit more lively, pull at your heartstrings. And the voice...Oh, this voice...Like warm honey or melting chocolate, like a lover singing her love, a woman crying with passion.
A great CD in all respects. Buy it!"
