"Maria Muldaur "Live In Concert" may be one of the strangest projects recorded. The musicianship and vocal performances are delightful. The unusual part is that Maria has taken her entire #1 blues album, the 2006 studio set "Heart of Mine: the Love Songs of Bob Dylan," and recorded the album live. The live songs are recorded in essentially the same order as released on the studio set; and the arrangements are similar. Added in the live set are a couple of her hits including her signature song "Midnite @ the Oasis" and a scorching version of J.J. Cale's "Cajun Moon" plus "Shoe Don't Fit." There is also a DVD of this concert, which may be the real treat. On the copy I have which is not marked as an advance copy, the booklet is just a one-page insert with no writing credits included. However, while this set is very similar to the studio release, Muldaur's sense of humor and anecdotes about Bob Dylan personalize the set. Sometimes she apparently faces away from the microphone and the talking suddenly goes softer. At one point, she asks the audience if the show is too slick for them. "You Ain't Going Nowhere" concludes the set, re-titled "Ride Me High," "We gonna slide down into the easy chair." While I'm not sure that any but the most avid Maria Muldaur fan needs both this live CD and the studio set, it is well done. Enjoy!"

"A major part of "live" cd's is, for me, the remarks of the artist, both planned and spontaneous. Whoever did the sound and the mix really doesn't seem to understand this. I say pass on this one and get the previous Dylan tribute. That's 5 star stuff."

"Maria Muldaur is just a good ol bluesy-jazzy-ballad singer.
She's a great beer that never stops tasting good"
