"To me, there is no better music than the sound of an excellent mariachi band, and it must be the sound of the blaring trumpets and violins. "Mariachi" is a favorite of traditional Mexican music and is referred to as street music. Today, more instruments are used than from the earliest days of the mariachi bands. Originally, the trumpet was not an instrument in the mariachi band.
This CD is absolutely wonderful! It sounds so sharp and clear! And mariachi music is always meant to be played loud. It is symbolic of sashaying costumes and lively dances.
The favorite on this CD has to be "Jesucita in Chihuahua" a famous polka. This might be the best version I have heard also. I play that one over because I love to hear the rhythm of the trumpet. Additional favorites are "Guadalajara" and "El Jarabe Tapatio" otherwise known as the Mexican Hat Dance. "Atolonilco" is another excellent polka; the tune is more recognizable than the name.
What is special about this CD is the mixture of vocals that also includes a woman's voice. The vocals balance with the instruments.
All the 15 tracks are classics that never become dated. You get more than your money's worth. .....MzRIZZ"
