"Back in the mid 60's, Capitol Records had an impressive stable of great jazz & contemp singers. Marian had three great albums on Cap and one on Decca. To the best of my knowledge none has been re-released, what a pity, she was the best of a great group of Singers, but sort of disappeared. Now I know why she moved to England and apparently is a hit over there. She still sings ballads the same distinctive way she did 30 yrs ago; however, I wish this cd had a little more "jump" to it like the Cap albums. Her version of" I've Got You Under My Skin" is a real standout on this cd and the arrangement is outstanding. Jeri Southern fans will appreciate her versions of Jeri's tunes. Great hearing from MM again."

"I was lucky to purchase three of Marion Montgomery's CDs in the last three months (two of them via amazon.com, including this one), and thank God her voice is still as vibrant as it was when she made her early albums in the USA.The songs on "Mellow" are mostly on the ballad side, and the arrangements (courtesy of Laurie Holloway, Marion's husband and musical director) are gorgeous! If you like things on the swinging side, check out "I've Got You Under My Skin" (in my eyes, Sinatra's version still reigns supreme).I hope that one day, the gods that appreciate great singers from years gone by will release Marion's earlier recordings, and also make more of her CDs from the UK available for US listeners. It's great to know that she still continues to sing today!"
