"I first saw Marjorie Richards in a local Seattle coffee house. The intimate setting enhanced Richards vocals and I sat mesmorized by the intensity, clarity, and honesty of her voice, lyrics, and guitar. It was truly a spiritual experience. When she sang "Forgiven" I cried. The truth and simplicity of her experience pierces to the heart. I felt like she was an old friend who was reflecting and sharing with me. Richards is an angelic sounding, poet inspired, gifted woman artist. She brings to life the "personal is political" sentiment."

"This is one of those rare CD's that you put in your player to listen to for the first time and then never take it out cause it just gets better and better every time you listen to it. Marjorie creates memorable tunes with insightful lyrics and deep melodic hooks. One listen to "Mama" and you'll be humming it for days. The strength of this CD lies in it's ability to capture a moment and then paint it with vivid images and honest words. Stark at times, vulnerable at others, this CD is an unflinching view of life's joys and sorrows. Being real is what Marjorie does best. And I can't wait to here more of her life and stories. I'll be first in line to buy her next CD!"

"Ms. Richards has performed in the South, where I live, and I have had the privilege of hearing her more than once. She not only sings but writes her own songs.
She has a touching and personal style as she bares her soul with her music. Her voice is rich and full of texture.
This album has some of her most moving songs.
It's a treat you will be pleased to own."

"There are those who write songs and there are those who craft songs. Marjorie is a craftswoman. Good songwriting tells a story and carries the listener. Her attention to the melody and actually enunciating words so the listener can understand is something THIS listener truly appreciates. A favorite that I sing often because it applies to so many things in life is Maybe the Sun. Other faves are My Backyard and Forgiven. I've also seen her perform live and know that she has written many more beautiful songs and has continued to improve upon an already beautiful voice. She captured my attention the first time I saw her perform a couple of years ago, if you get the chance...go, but in the mean time, buy this CD!"
Give me this CD when I get stranded on a desert island!!

"Ok, there are a million folky, singer-songwriters out there trying to get your attention. But THIS is a CD to take note of!!! She has the word-smithing of Shawn Colvin, the insight and heart of Sarah MacLaughlan. Best tune is 200 Mile Marker!!! Can't wait for her new CD. Saw her perform years ago and she puts on a really great show. Leaves you feeling like you just spent the evening with a dear friend. Even 5 years after first buying this CD, it's STILL one of my favorites. I never tire of it.And check out her website. The girl is up and coming. Lots of awards to her name. Move over Dar Williams or Indigo Girls!!"
