Album DescriptionMark Donato's second album, The Old Joy, will move into your apartment and grow up with you like a lost sibling. If this world didn't stink out loud, Mark Donato would be a household name, or would at least attract the attention of folks who flock to writer/performers like Randy Newman, Loudon Wainwright, or Ray Davies. Those are some approximate but inadequate reference points for pigeonholing the artist that John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants has called "one of the best songwriters around." And that's ignoring his voice, an incredibly expressive sort of Richard Manuel-ish soulful yelp that always seems to go where you least expect it.
