"In The Public Eye photographer Leon Bernstein or the Great Berzini is always the first at crime scenes in New York to shoot some pictures for the main newspapers. Filmed in a 1940s setting, Mark Isham uses a dark but beautiful melody, played mostly by piano, in this film. Strings and trumpet play also a major role. Isham knows exactly how to create the feeling for the "dark brown" New York in the 1940s with the Italian mob chasing each other and the jazzy pubs where the sigar smoking high society meets each other."
