CD ReviewsMark Lindsay Solo Mike C | 03/11/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "I couldn't find an original version of Mark Lindsay's "Arizona" until I stumbled upon this CD. This is a Sony "Collectables" CD and priced more reasonably than either of the imports. Since none of the Paul Revere and the Raiders collections offer "Arizona," I used this collection to supplement my purchase of "Paul Revere and the Raiders Super Hits" which has most of their major hits on 45 at a very reasonable price. Super Hits
Of course I bought this CD for "Arizona," but the pleasant surprise is Mark's rendition of the other nine songs (all slow tempo classics). Quite a change from the Paul Revere and the Raiders voice we are used to, but it demonstrates a range that is at once warm, smooth, confident, and pleasant to the ear. Perhaps why Mark Lindsay will always be one of the great vocal gifts we experienced growing up in the 60s." |
