A switch, but still fabulous

"Mark Murphy, once again, blows me away. Here, he's assembled a first-rate band for this disc, recorded live in the Twin Cities. The great Tom Harrell plays horn here, and does a fine job. The percussion section, Esther Godinhez and the young drummer Daniel Gonzalez, drive the music, along with Peter Schimke, pianist. Highlights are "In the Still of the Night", done in Murphy's inimitable way, a ballad that somehow swings; and "Everything I love", where Esther sings a spanish translation. I was lucky enough to see this band play this music in Boston; a great show, which translates quite well to disc."
Wow.

"I wish I could sing like that...phrasing is classic. Mark lives the lyrics. Musicianship is up there with Bird and Bud and...."
Incredible!

"Mark Murphy continues to amaze me. He is a singer's singer and an unbelieveable musician. Jareau and so many others owe so much to him, including myself. What a GREAT album!"
