CD Reviews

An essential part of any modern jazz collection
joseph_demarco@cuusa.com | Boston, MA | 06/05/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)

"One listen through this CD will convince you of the importance of Mark Turner's music. He is one of the greatest up and coming saxophonists of this generation, and has a unique approach to the instrument. One may recognize Brad Mehldau's current trio as the rhythm section--it's great to hear them in the context of a quintet. The compositions are inventive, and the players are remarkable. This is a favorite of mine, I couldn't recommend it more highly."

"For me this record is among the best sound and composition of jazz including the saxophone instrument.Mark Turner is a very good saxophonist a litle bit green in this albun but always better in each albun ahead"
