CD Reviews

Marlena on Columbia

"Never judge a CD by its cover! This shabbily packaged CD includes practically all of Marlena's fine first 2 Columbia lps, "SWEET BEGINNINGS" and "ACTING UP", except for 1 cut ("I Wonder", which IS on Marlena's 1999 Sony reissue). This is 70's smooth soul at its finest..."
Wonderful, Wonderful

"I purchased this original Marlena Shaw album first on wax years ago. It was one of those that I just took a chance on as I had never heard her music before. I immediately fell in love with this album, it is under the name golden classics now but when I purchased this album then it was under another title of which I don't remember but I remembered the songs on that album. This Golden Classics album adds more songs than I was ever looking for... If you have not heard this album then your simply must... I fell in love with "Go away little boy" then "sweet beginings" "Pictures and memories" I simply loved this album. I am purchasing this album as it does take me back to a time in my life when I was oh so very very happy. This album deserves a look and listen from all who like Marlena and if you haven't heard Marlena Shaw then I say "sit back and give yourself a real treat""
