"This newly remastered C.D is a must for every Marlene fan. It was recorded live in 1964 with conductor and arranger Burt Bacharach at London's Queen's Theatre. It is so great to hear a live recording go from so softly you could hear a pin drop, to the loud dynamic encores of 'Falling in Love Again'. It leaves you breathless and charged with anticipation. In a letter many years ago, Miss Dietrich told me that 'Dietrich in London' and 'Dietrich in Rio' were her best recordings. This C.D was the same year as 'Dietrich in London' and may be a variation of that concert, so put simply, it is wonderful. For those of you who never saw the eternally glamourous Miss Dietrich perform live, it is great to hear a recording that evokes the mystery, depth and clarity of this great actress and Cabaret Legend. Here she sings 'La vie En Rose', 'I Wish You Love', Cole Porters 'The Laziest Gal in Town' and 'Lola' with fresh and exciting arrangements by Bacharach. A great version of 'Lili Marlene' brings back memories of her long years entertaining the troops during World War II. Marlene is at her peak here, her timing and delivery are exemplary. It was recently the 100th Anniversary of Marlene Dietrich's birth. She has her own Museum at FilmMuseum Berlin with three rooms dedicated to her containing 159 exhibits. It contains over 3,000 textile items including 40 film and 30 show costumes, also 300,000 sheets of written documents and 16,500 photographs...
