Album DescriptionAlthough Marlene achieved greater success as an actress, she first came to prominence in her German homeland making records, which she did in the 1920s. Her most famous film, The Blue Angel, in which she sang 'Falling In Love Again', was the first European talking feature film and made in 1930.She resumed her singing career when her acting career slowed down, recording for Decca, EMI, Columbia and Elektrola. Angered at the rise of the Nazis in Germany she migrated to America and became a citizen in 1937, spending the Second World War entertaining the Allied troops. After the war she toured extensively as a cabaret performer, singing songs from both her many films and popular songs of the day.
