It's difficult to conceive of a less imaginative project; song selection, arrangements, even album title all emanate from the stock Yuletide script. Then again, Christmas isn't about innovation, is it? It's about smiles an... more »d curling up by the fire and listening to the same songs over and over. For those purposes, McBride's holiday offering will suit you just dandy. Her lovely voice is capable of enormous power and delicate nuance. Dennis Burnside's arrangements don't match up in most cases, although the perky, harp-filled "Let It Snow" and the dark-toned "Away in a Manger" and "What Child Is This" are more attractive than the others. Still, even McBride's substantial pipes can't rescue this record from the doldrums; it overtly distances itself from the whole of her country-music roots. --Marc Greilsamer« less

"I was reluctant to purchase another Christmas album but I had recently become a fan, after purchasing Evolution, with the beautiful song, Valentine. My enthusiasm was greatly increased when I watched the White House Christmas Show. Her rendition of "The Christmas Song" was beautiful.I waited patiently for her to perform and I was not dissapointed. I am now a loyal fan, forever."
ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!!!!!!!

"I ALWAYS KNEW MARTINA HAD A FABULOUS VOICE AND THAT WHEN SHE SINGS THE HAIR ON THE BACK OF MY NECK STANDS UP BUT I DIDN'T REALLY REALIZE UNTIL I LISTENED TO THIS CD HOW MUCH EMOTION SHE IS CAPABLE OF. SHE MAKES YOU THINK YOU ARE HEARING ALL OF THE CLASSIC CHRISTMAS SONGS FOR THE FIRST TIME. SHE IS AMAZING."
Awesome classic Christmas music CD

"Martina's voice really shines on this CD. It is the best Christmas CD I have ever bought. All of the accompanying music is masterfully written and goes perfectly with her voice. Even though the CD is all classic Christmas songs that have been around a while, the music that was composed specifically for Martina's CD is refreshing. Martina does an absolutely spectacular and beautiful job of singing those old Christmas classics everyone loves. I would give this CD 10 stars if the rating went that high!"
