"Great Album! Great Artist! But beware, this is only for the TRUE country fan. If twang is not your game, stay away! And what an amazing songwriter. His words are like Kentucky poetry! If anyone has information of a Marty Brown website or tour schedule, please e-mail me!"
FANTASTIC! One of his best to date!

"I have been listening to Marty Brown for almost a decade and he just keeps getting stronger as far as his writing ability goes. Although his first three were great, "Here's to the Honky Tonks" has several that are radio-worthy! Hey, if anyone has any info on actual play dates for Marty, they would be greatly appreciated!"

"Being the first cousin of Marty I ought to like his music. When I was in Hawaii while in the Army, everyone was in awe about his voice. A buddie of mine used my cd so much it got wore out. Just a little info for all you guys out there. Marty is not performing as I know it now accept for family reunions, but he did write the song " I'm form the country and I like it that way" in which Tracy Byrd sang into the top ten. He is finishing up on a new single for Mr. Byrd for release this summer 2001. I hope Marty continues to write, he will make it big someday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"If you like country music, but are a little weary of the current one-hit wonders parading around the top-20 country stations, give a listen to Marty Brown.I own three of his CDs, and they are somewhat hard to find up here in Minnesota, but I like this one, "Here's to the Honky Tonks," the best.Marty might best be described as a "throwback." His voice is probably completely uncommercial, but nonetheless, it is a GREAT voice. Being from Tennessee, he has that regional accent and can make a one syllable word into a four syllable one, but it has a quality that I really enjoy: not nasally, whiney or real twangy, but strong, mellow and honest. He apparently plays a guitar for real (and harmonica), and his band is really great: spare arrangements, with the guitars and drums very up-front. He also writes most of his own songs, which I greatly admire in an artist. Sometimes his lyrics are a bit awkward in spots, but they mostly ring true. Not slick, but that's good, given some of the songs that pass for "Country" these days. Many of the tunes on this CD are really fine and great sing-alongs. "Behind Bars," should be a classic; as is "You can't Wrap Your Arms Around a Memory." Other good ones on this CD are "Love Comes Easy," and "Too Lonely Too Long" And if I had a country band that played the clubs and bars, "There's No Song LIke a Slow Song," would be on my play-list for sure: one of the greatest slow-dance/chick songs, ever.Would love to hear this guy live some time."
