"I recently started looking around at cds offering recordings of songs that Catholics have heard and are familiar from attending Catholic Mass. Some of the songs from the 80's are some of my favorites. I bought "Anthology I 1980-1984" because I knew some of the songs but thought this would be a wonderful compilation. I am particulary fond of the track "We Walk By Faith".I came home from an out of town trip to see my Amazon package waiting for me. I put it in my cd player of my computer and listened to this cd as I unwound from driving and read some email. This cd is so inspirational and relaxing, I could literally feel the tension leaving my body and found myself singing along to the songs I have come to know so well over the years. There should be more recordings like this one! I am looking forward to "Anthology II"! I find Catholic Music harder to find unless one can make it to their local Catholic bookstore. It was a pleasure to find this cd on Amazon. This is a recording I highly recommend to anyone who finds the Catholic songs of the 80's inspirational! Very good vocals! It's a joyful celebration of and to the Lord."

"Marty Haugen truly added inspiration and spirit-filled reflection to his music. I really like his songs "We Remember" and "Shepherd Me O God" and I definitely recommend these two hymns for personal reflection. There is something in "We Remember" that truly haunts me because i love singing it during the masses we have when i was in grade school and high school. This is one of the few songs i have truly loved to sing all over again. It speaks about togetherness and celebrating as one family in the banquet of our Lord. There's a feeling of belongingness to the community whenever we sing this song during the celebration of the holy mass. It is also a great listening music for personal reflection!"

"I bought this Cd in March of 2000 and listen to it at least once a week. I enjoy every song but "Child of Wonder", which is weak and sappy. My favorites are: "Canticle of the Sun", "Sing Out, Earth and Sky", "My Soul in Stillness Waits" and "Rejoice, Rejoice". I will definitely buy more CD's by Mr. Haugen"

"I grew up with Marty Haugen songs and NO MUSIC makes me feel more tied to the Church and community worship with fellow Catholics like his songs do.
I understand it might be difficult for the older crowd to accept that music changes, but I SELDOM sing along to any of the older, traditional songs at Mass because I can't relate to the sound of them.
Worship is worship. Praising God doesn't have to be ONLY in the traditional-sounding songs."
