CD ReviewsAWESOME Anointed | Thomasville, NC United States | 05/23/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "This CD is AWESOME. The words to every song ministers to your spirit. I highly recommend this CD and look forward to more music from Perfecting Praise and Marvin Winans. I found his web-site for his ministry (Perfecting Church). It's not finished yet, but you will be able to order videos and tapes, etc. from Marvin Winans Ministry once this site is finished. Again, BUY THIS CD!!!!" Good Good Good Music 4 Life | Greensboro, NC USA | 06/28/2002 (3 out of 5 stars) "This album has been a long time coming and it doesn't dissapoint. Yet, it doesn't get the feet jammin' like the first album either. Anyone who listened to the first album knows that every song hit the spot just right. The slow songs were there, but not in large force. Every song had high energy and the band was off the hook. This album just doesn't have that. Even though this is gospel music and involves praise and worship, there are entirely too many slow songs considering that there are only ten tracks on the album. The band doesn't really stand out, even though the organist is quite good! Some songs are extremely short and it just seems like Marvin didn't put the effort into this album that he put into the last album. And this is basically unacceptable because he had almost nine years to work on it. However, I can't deny the true writing and composing skills of Pastor Marvin. The intro track, "Blessed be the Lord," is very powerful and high in energy. More of the songs should be like this one. Overall, this is good gospel. You can't go wrong with Marvin Winans or Ron Winans, but with such a large choir and awesome band, it just seems like one should expect more from this project.
