"One terrific cd. Mary Stahl has a smooth, refreshing voice backed by a great group of musicians. Her renditions of old favs such as I'll Never Stop Loving You, Mr. Sandman, etc. are the best. My personal favorite on this disk is Deep Purple. The entire CD is a wonderful listening experience. A must keep in my CD collection. Now to find more of her music..."
Mary Stahl Shines!

"I first discovered Mary Stahl at the Dakota Grill in Buffalo, NY. Her torchy voice transports you to the ultra-lounge era of days gone by where cigarette smoke swirled around chilled martinis in the wee hours of the morning. All the songs are exceptional: Long Time, Slow Boat, the snappy but smooth jazz flavor of Deep Purple (great arrangement!), and Daddy (peel her a grape!) If you ever found yourself saying "people just don't sing like they used to," then mix yourself a highball, dim the lights and buy this album. It's swank!"

"Her interpretation of some great standards proves that Mary Stahl has staying power! From the great Bobby Troup-penned classic 'Daddy,' to the more proven hits like the title cut and some favorites like 'Deep Purple,' 'Baby Love,' and 'Mr Sandman,' Mary makes you want more! As a Program Director for an Adult Standards station, I've added several of her songs to our playlist, and the resulting phone response from listeners was terrific! Be sure to give a dedicated ear to 'Young At Heart!' She's a powerhouse voice, and I've added her to my personal CD collection at home. I only wish I could see her live in concert! Enjoy! I surely do!"
Fine album

"Fine, very solid album in a "classic pop"/lounge style. Stahl's
careful & warm voice like an updated Doris Day in a small group
setting. Some intriguing arrangements too-- check out "Deep Purple,"or "Sugar." And some intriguing song choices as well-- "Baby Love" & "Where the Boys Are" for example. She can handle upbeat songs & heartfelt ballads equally well. A welcome addition to the ranks of newer standards singers."
A rich voice on unusual titles

"This is one of the few available recordings of "It's Been A Long Time," the reason I bought the CD, but Mary's rich, powerful voice makes every track worth having. The CD liner notes another album not available on Amazon. That's a pity. This chanteuse deserves to be better known."
