"First of all, this is a live recording from 1976, so we do have audience noises and such. Sometmes, especcally during CAV, the sound gets a litle soft. That being said, the performances here are excellent.
Domingo is, as always, excellent. The Best Canio of his day, his "Vesti" is excellent and he is also great as Truddiu. Troyanos is excellent and heartrenching as Santuzza, and Ingvar Wixell's Tonio is outstanding. Noelle Rodgers and Brent Ellis are an effecting Silvio and Nedda, and Rodger's trills are lovley. Joseph Frank and Faith Eshaw are fine as Beppe and Lola. Wassili Yunalako and Donna Peterson are fine support in Cav as well. Kenneth Schenerhorn and the Chorus and Orchestra of the San FRANCISCO OPera are in fine form as well. Not my first choice, but a nice introduction to he peice"
