A beautiful and historic tribute to rivers everywhere

"This CD was originally a concert that presented in chronological order songs about rivers amd waterwaus tjat jave beem popular throughout history. Inspired by plans by the Springfield, Oregon Utility Board to put 5 hydroelectric cams on the North Fork of the Middle Fork of the Willamette River the music takes us from 1767 to the present. It is a great blend of classical, folk and pop music. I only wish that Mr. Williams had included Handel's Water Music from the original concert. The liner notes to this CD (like all of Mr. Williams' CDs and LP, of which I own every one) are detailed and thorough. I am looking forward to whatever project Mason Williams has next, because I have to be his biggest fan. I love his music."

"I have all of Mason Williams' records (no, not CDs, records) and his book, "Laughing Camera". I've been waiting for all his former music to come out on CD, so I'm happy to find this one. It's a typical Mason WIlliams album: variety, sensitivity, and always that wonderfully controlled voice; sound that flows rather than being forced. Seldom do you find such quality, and only Nat King Cole and Karen Carpenter have deserved that acclaim from me. Oh yes, I forgot to say that he's the best guitarist in the world. Sure, I'm sold on all that Mason Williams has done, but this is my spot to say so!"
Wonderful, elegant music of the past

"The CD contains a fine blend of old songs, many from the 19th and early 20th century, with "rivers" being the central theme throughout. I did not realize how talented and versatile Mason Williams is in song production, until I listened to the various complex and soft-sounding arrangements he managed to contrive for each song. From the spiritual motif to the folk sound, whether instrumental or voice, Mason Williams has produced one of my favorite evening-relaxing blend of sounds, and indeed the best of all albums he has produced."

"The ever eclectic and talented Mason Williams creates music dedicated to rivers.....sort of a history of American rivers in song; you won't be sorry you purchased this cd---I have owned it on cassette for 10 years and still listen to it regularly. Thanks Mason."
