"I ordered this CD for my daughter who had requested it as a Christmas gift. I was not familiar with this artist or his music prior to this order. When my daughter received this gift on Christmas and then played the music, I was really impressed, it is a very good CD and in fact is something that I would purchase for my own enjoyment."

"I bought "Nothing Left to Lose" after hearing of Mat from my kids. The songs have a unique, catchy style. Listen to the tracks...you'll buy it, too."

"Frankly I disagree with the people saying to lose the rap. I think the rap is what makes Mat unique and gives another group of listeners a chance at his songs they might not otherwise take.
His music is great for all kinds of things. I can use it as easy listening to relax. It is good for the beat of his songs to get you in the groove while studying. It is even good for music at the gym to workout to. The variety in his music makes me understand the talent he has and how he can reach different audiences.
Also to note, the dude is phenomenal live. It blows me away every time I have seen him. Go see him if he is in your town and you will not regret it. The tickets have been reasonably priced at free-$20/each and not $100/each for nosebleed seats like Coldplay. Bottom line: Wonderful album and I will continue to follow Mat Kearney at concerts and in buying his albums."
A Perfect Blend

"I read through a couple of the other reviews on this site, and I must disagree with those who claim that Mat Kearney needs to "choose" between his rap sound or his alternative style. I like rap and love alternative, and it's very difficult to find a more perfect blend than what Kearney has created here. Linkin Park does another great job of combining the two genres, but Mat's sound is much lighter. No screaming and no synth. One could describe it as less angry.
This has to be one of my favorite CDs because of how perfectly he's blended the two genres, and it can even be for those who only favor one of the two. For 8 dollars? You can feel that you're only paying for the songs that are heavy with rap or the ones that have no rapping at all.
A simply magnificent CD and I must recommend it for all."
