Light-weight, languid tropical (derivative) fun

"Wholly derivative Latin-infused smoooooth jazz from British popsters Matt Bianco.
Yet Matt Bianco -- throughout a lengthy series of top-notch pop records -- continually shows a talent for rewriting Latin-flavored jazz pop into something wholly new and completely catchy. "Sunshine Day" gets the party started, giving you the feel of hanging out after hours at the coolest club in pre-Castro Havana. "Gypsy Lady" speeds up the tempo a bit. "Altozano" borrows its melody a little too heavily from the Brazilian bossa nova standard "Mais Que Nada," but generally this record is light-weight and languid tropical fun."
