CD ReviewsWhat a discovery! zelda baron | Chicago, Illinois | 01/09/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "I heard this musician play while he was growing up in Orange County, but after he moved to New York City, I did not have the chance to hear him as often. However, I was able to order this album at Borders Books and Music and was absolutely delighted with it. Rumor has it he's working on a second album. I can't wait!" A wonderful debut album, full or original compositions. C. L. Baron | Irvine, CA USA | 06/18/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is actually Matt Otto's 3rd CD, but the first one with a nationwide distribution. Although originally from Southern California (and he still packs 'em in when he's in town..), he now resides in New York City (hence, the title of the CD). Otto is a talented, disciplined tenor sax player who never fails to surround himself with other first class musicians as well. The album is a nice mix of tempos and moods, particularly the hautingly beautiful "Allison." Otto's close harmony work with alto saxophonist James Mahone and guitarist Steve Cotter is a joy to hear. From seasoned listeners to folks beginning to listen to jazz, this is a wonderful album!"
