Album Description

Neither Matt Monro or Nelson Riddle need any introductions as they are both legends in their own field of work. Matt the versatile crooner with a string of hits and great recordings behind him and Nelson one of the most successsful arrangers and orchestrators ever, having worked for Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee and Nat King Cole amongst many others. This album is a recording of the one and only time that Matt and Nelson worked together. It was recorded in front of an invited audience at the BBC Television Centre in 1967. The recording has been remastered giving it a top quality sound.

"I am a big Matt Monroe fan, so I was expecting big things. I sure was disappointed. It was nothing like what I was expecting and I sure wish I had not purchased it. There has to be much better Matt Monro CD's, I know so because I have several of them. If you enjoy hearing people clap then you will enjoy this cd. There are 13 songs on this disc and Matt sings 8 of them, of which I think two really do him justice, the rest are just loud. I doubt that I shall listen to this again. Wasted my money."

"I was a little apprehesive about buying this album since it did not state what songs are on the CD. When I read the liner notes from his (Matt's) daughter it was clear why. This was to be a collection of songs from a recorded TV signal from a tape found in an attic. The enhancement and clean up with todays technology proved that this man can sing much better that anythone out there today even after 40 years. It's a shame the video is no longer around. This is well worth the money for this great singer, arranger and band."
