"I bought this CD at the Shawn Mullins concert in Montreal where Matthew Kahler was the opening act. This very talented singer songwriter musician completely captured the audience with the songs from this album. The introspective "It Will Not Come", the inspiring "As Close As That", the fun "Where Sweet Julie Lives", the sentimental title track "Out Of The Blue" and a few others. A terrific performance. Driving home after the concert, listening to my new purchase, I discovered the beautifully poetic "Roni" and "Africa" as well as a wonderful cover of "Sister Golden Hair". Matthew's fresh folk style is perfect for those who enjoy beautiful melodies and meaningful lyrics. The problem with reviewing Matthew's music is that words can't really express all the emotions that are contained in his songs, so I'm not expecting that what I've written so far has conveyed the Matthew Kahler musical experience. If you're still wondering if this CD is for you, know that the multi-talented Shawn Mullins is the producer of the album, as well as a musical contributor on every song. Matthew and Shawn seemed to have a lot of fun making great music on stage, and the same feeling comes through on this CD."
