"They were tagged as "the italian Les Negresses Vertes" or even "the piemontese Mano Negra", but their music always was unique and distinctive. Now, after more than 10 years, the band Mau Mau have matured a bit. The wild spirit of their lively acoustic music style has for some extend made room for elaborate arrangements and more relaxed rythms.
Nevertheless the ingredients of the Mau Mau style are still the same: Italian and Piemontese lyrics, south-american rythms, north-italian folk, north-african melodies, mediterranean vibes, the spirit of punk and all this boiled up in a melting pot with the name "POP" on it!!
The moods on "eldorado" swing back and forth between hedonism, lust for life, pure anger, sultry erotics, weeping melancholy and party-time happiness. Some of the songs are easily forgotten, some long remembered. All in all no Mau Mau milestone but at least another brick in their memorial - and a fairly good reason to spend some of your time and money."
