CD Reviews

It's as the editorial review says...

(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is a wonderfully atmospheric score; Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer are possibly the most underrated thing in music. If you can find their three albums (EACH MAN KILLS THE THING HE LOVES, ADAM 'N' EVE, and SHAG TOBACCO), do so. But where each of those albums had at least one tour-de-force piece of music to rally around, THE BOXER lacks one -- just as is mentioned above. "In The Shadow Of A Gun" is powerful, but sounds just like every other intense movie theme song, and "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" is almost obnoxiously uninvolving. The instrumentals are varied and fascinating, but almost all end before their chance at greatness. A beautiful but frustrating soundtrack."
More than a soundtrack.

"Classical Music by Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer, what more is there to say? Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer are proboly the best music duo ever. They have brought poetry back to music, in a very buitiful way. If I could review thier three albums now they would all get 6 out of 5 stars, yes thats how good they relly are. But in the mean time, there are only a few ways to get thier music here in the states. Soundtracks, (like the Boxer, In The Name Of The Father, Romeo and Julliet, and Mission Impossible) all showcase thier art.
Now to this album. It is very nice classical, even for the most moddest music listener. My favorit part is how well the coincided the storyline with the music. it is also surpising to see how good they use dialog in movies. The album also has very nice Irish thems to it, its hard to explane, just buy the album, before it is discontinued."
Eclectic Artists Friday & Seezer Score Again!

"THE BOXER soundtrack is perfect eclecticism, as ambient music; something to set a mood. I own a vast collection of eclectic music, and I must say this is one of the best eclectic scores I've heard in a while. There is true sentiment and talent evident in the work, and while dialogue excerpts in soundtracks can sometimes be annoying, the quality of genius from SHAG TOBACCO musicians Seezar & Friday make the soundtrack an experience all its own. THE BOXER soundtrack will provide endless pleasure for your lifestyle, from an early rise with the Choir arangements to slumber time with its heart-gripping strings and passive melodies. A must have for collectors of film soundtracks, as I am."
