"Giuliani does what instrument specific virtuosi do best. From mastery of the guitar, he composes to push the limits of technique and the future of his instrument. He was important enough to command attention in the Vienna of Beethoven. In fact he was in the debut of the Pastoral Symphony. He was also a friend of Rossini, whence comes the Italian influence.

This recording is well engineered and the performances are fully competent. Just know that if this music is important to you, BIS, a NAXOS related label has the three volume complete flute and guitar."
