Great CD by a strong female vocalist/rapper -- but I haven't listened in over a year so it's time to say goodbye!

Simply the best on old school

"This cd is the best of the best! You can't go wrong with hits like "Cha Cha Cha", "Cappucino" and "Stop, Look, Listen". I would rate this album a 10 if I could. MC Lyte was the tightest female rapper on the east coast. Everyone says Queen Latifah was, but I really dont think you can put QL 2nd album up against MC Lyte's Eyes on This."

"I fell in LOVE with the LYTE when I first saw Lyte As A Rock. I was amazed that she stepped up and claim her throne in the hiphop industry. She definitely has not been recognised like KIM or Latifah, but her influence to the game would never be surmounted by any other female MC. "Eyes on This" is definitely a classic hip hop album. Its like the Female "ready to die". She showed that the ladies were capable of being way better in style and lyrics than some men. Her attitude and flows and themes were so amazing that I paid so much attention to whatever she was saying. The L-Y-T-E is the undisputed "QUEEN", "DIVA", "GODDESS" of hiphop. She is the female RAKIM definitely. Keep on doing ya thing."

"This is THE definitive album of all time showcasing the incredible talent of being a hip hop MC. MC Lyte is without any doubt one of the greatest MCs of all time. At a time when Big Daddy Kane was heating up the scene with tracks like RAW, MC Lyte was entertaining hip hop audiences in 1989 with tracks on 'Eyes On This' such as 'Stop, Look, Listen'. 'Stop, Look, Listen', produced by King Of Chill, is a perfect piece of hip hop mastery. The beat makes your head automatically bob. A classic by all means. Other tracks like 'Cappucino', produced by Marley Marl, display MC Lyte's ability to paint a vivid picture with words alone. 'Cha Cha Cha', also produced by King Of Chill, is poetry in motion. I saw MC Lyte perform some of these tracks at the 'Sisters In The Name Of Rap' concert, and I have to say that she sounds even better live. This is a rare and remarkable asset though. This entire album is a listen, you can play it from start to finish. Every track on 'Eyes On This' can easily hold its own. This is a must-have for any hip hop lover. Peace to MC Lyte, the Audio Two - Milk & Gizmo, King Of Chill, Pee MD, Grand Puba Maxwell, DJ Doc and Marley Marl."
MC Lyte was before her time....

"MC Lyte was a true MC with no make-up or gimmicks...This young lady could care less about selling her soul to pop culture or posing in a magazine. Lyte is an Mc who gained repect for lyrical ability. For young ladies who are thinking of entering the rap game....go cop Eyes On This and study what it takes to become a real MC...."

"Get your "Cha, Cha, Cha" on with the one and only MC Lyte. She is "the dopest female that you've heard thus far". Forever imitated but never duplicated, Lyte is the best female rapper to ever hit the scene. Have a cup of "Cappuccino" while you groove with the L-Y-T-E...you will NOT be disappointed!"
