CD ReviewsSuper CD from a great singer C. Pittenturf | APO, AE USA | 03/29/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "I met MC while she was on an USO tour in Germany. She connected with the audience with her brand of music, and we could not get enough of it. Her selection of songs is a mix of ballads and contemporay thoughts in country. The mix of her voice and the music sold the audience. I bought the CD and have not been disappointed with the selection. Even after six years, the CD brings back memories of her standing on the club's small stage, and singing "Why do I do this to Me" and "Straight to You". Purchasing this CD will not be a mistake, and you will add music that you will listen to again and again, listening to the blend of voice and music." Talented but obscure country singer from Ohio Peter Durward Harris | Leicester England | 01/14/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "When M C (actually Mary Christina) recorded this album for a small independent label in 1996, she already had a songwriting contract with Lee Greenwood's publishing company, Sawyer Brown and Chris Cagle being among the artists to have recorded her songs. MC worked very hard to promote the album, doing a tour of radio stations reminiscent of Loretta Lynn in the early sixties then touring extensively opening for other country acts as well as performing at Fan Fair, the Grand Ole Opry and other important venues around America. M C also toured extensively overseas. The hard work was rewarded with sales of 75,000 records. M C is a fine singer with a lovely voice who is capable of singing ballads or up-tempo songs. She co-wrote three of the songs here, these being Just enough to go on, It ain't over and Why do I do this to me. As far as I can tell, all the other songs are originals Steve Gibson, one of Nashville's top producers who has worked with many top country stars, was the producer of this album, a magnificent example of contemporary country music that still has traditional roots - you can hear Sonny Garrish playing steel guitar on several tracks. In her list of credits, M C concludes by saying that you should blame any omissions on the aluminium foil in her diet. I've seen a few strange credits but that is one of the more unusual. If you enjoy listening to talented country singers that are apparently forgotten, M C Potts is definitely worth a listen." Great Contemporary Country bytor-chainsaw | rochester, new york | 03/17/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I saw her perform at the Grand Ol' Opry and was impressed with her energy (She's quite the little spitfire in person). I bought the cd as a souvenir more or less, and wasn't sure I'd listen to it much-- I'm a fan of Dwight Yoakam and the Mavericks and don't like much middle-of-the-road country. I was surprised that I really liked this cd. The lyrics are intelligent and the flow of the songs is near perfect."
