Synopsis

Album Description
First time on CD for the Members' third studio album, originally only issued in the States and Australia where the band had really begun to take off at the time. It spawned a hit single in each country: 'Working Girl' in the former (two versions of which are included here) and 'Radio' in the latter- but the rest of the tracks, particularly 'Boys Like Us' and 'You And Me Against The World' are great too. Includes six non-LP bonus tracks, a booklet of all the relevant sleeves and liner notes by Nicky Tesco and J.C. Captain Oi. 2006.

CD Reviews

You'd never guess how new romantic the album is based on the

"Way back in 1983 when I first got MTV, this song "Working Girl" by The Members got regular rotation. Good song, pretty mainstream and pop, reminded me of Dexy's Midnight Runners. Here it is, years later, and being on a new wave message board steered me toward their entire 1983 album. And boy was I shocked to find that, other than the hit single, this album sounds like early Spandau Ballet, Haircut 100 and even shades of early Duran Duran at times. Wow. Never expected this band to be a new wave band (they were originally more of the punk variety on their earlier album). In fact, 4 songs on this album are produced by Martin Rushent, the man responsible for the hugely popular Human League electro pop album Dare! This one is definitely a must for your 80s collection, This CD is the same as the one titled "Going West". It has all the same songs, although in a different running order, but this release also has the 6 bonus tracks, including an alternate remix of Working Girl."
