"Over the decades I have loved the Catalogue of Birds and have enjoyed the performances of it by Loriod and Ugorski. I listened to Martin Zehn's performance with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised that it constituted a fresh interpretation that was well worth listening to. It is possible to say that Martin Zehn has played these difficult pieces in a way that has resulted in a coherent and distinctly musical rendering and without the harshness that comes through in Ugorski, for example. If price is a concern of yours, you cannot do better than to acquire these discs at this price. I am even tempted to buy them as gifts, but know better."
