"I saw METAL CHURCH around that time on stage for a mini festival with CYCLONE, ANTHRAX and METALLICA, I didn't know them but I was blasted by their performance-best band that night!
The next day I bought their two firsts LP's(metal church and The Dark)and again was very impressed and I still enjoy them very much. Then came the changes of Line-up and by the fourth album I gave up...untill I saw that LIVE from 86.
What is there to say except that I was very disappointed by this CD, the sound is quite good but not excellent and neither is the performance, some songs are played way too fast and the singer is often out of tune, not to mention the more than approximative version of HIGHWAY STAR.
Still that album remimds of the good old time when music was music and the Live errors were the proof of a band willing to kick some ...When I put on that CD I try not to listen too closely and focus on the energy of the music.
For METAL CHURCH die hard fans this is a must have, if you're not too familiar with the band you might wanna try one of their two studio albums first."

"If you had any doubts as to David Wayne's vocal ability live, then look no further: I rate this one of the BEST live metal albums of all time. I have the import, so I don't know if it's in the other release, but there's a paragraph where the band explains that it was live recordings and they didn't do much to improve the sound, so to expect the sound of a live recording: ALL I HEARD WAS PERFECTION LIVE! The riffing this band did back then was unbelieveable. Think of Iced Earth's guitar speed now ... well Metal Churh had it back then. And David Wayne's vocals were as powerful, if not more, than on the albums! This guy has a heaviness to his voice that no one can pull off live. If you liked the 1st two Metal Church albums at all, then get this and play it loud!"

"Metal Church LIVE should be required listening for ALL metal fans. This collection of tunes is the cream of the crop from one of metal's most underrated fans. The original line-up is in place for these recordings from the mid 80s. If you're a fan of real metal, do yourself a favor and pick this up."

"Boy, does this cd rip! I've been a fan of these guys since the early years and this disc contains material from their 2 best albums: "Metal Church" & "The Dark" They sound great live and the production is top notch (especially for '86!). They blister thru one song after the next - a true headbanging delight! Could "Gods of Wrath" be anymore more powerful???"
This is how all live albums should be....

"Simply Awesome, Metal never sounded so good! the first time i heard this i was blown away by how damn good they sounded live (better than their studio work i reckon). guitars and bass are spot on all the way through, the drumming is crazy and David Waynes vocals are just insane. accasionaly there is some feedback and stuff from the amps but that really only adds to the records charm.
i rate this album up there with the Randy Rhoads tribute album as one of the best live albums iv ever heard. In the name of metal buy this album!! Buy it now!"
