"The performance on this CD is flawless... especially Doomsday. And it was interesting to hear the Madvillain songs he performed before the CD was released; he changed them later on to make them flow better, which was a wise decision. The only problem with this CD is that it is all one track... yes, all one track. It's very strange and something Doonm would do.... not that you would skip tracks, but it's the principle of it... that's the only problem. Other than that, go out and buy it (and all of Doom's other stuff) like I did and support the underground.
EDIT: Also, the Amazon tracklisting is slightly wrong. Before Change The Beat is a cool mixture of sci-fi effects and acoustics."
Essential for Doom fanatics

"My obsession with the man behind the iron mask has been overflowing within the past few months, and "Live From Planet X" plays a big part of it. This is simply one of the most raw live recordings I've ever heard. And honestly, I couldn't have hoped for anything better than what I got. Doom is presented in classic form, performing with great energy, intensity and comfort that only a seasoned veteran could bring to the table. He muscles through classics such as "Greenbacks" (originally a Prince Paul song), "Hey!", the then unheard "Accordion" (from the forthcoming Madvillain album), "Great Day", my personal favorite "Rhymes like dimes", and the Madlib produced "One Beer".
Overall, there is very little a Doom fan can complain about here. Amazon claims that it's a 50 minute live set in their description above, but it actually clocks in at just under 39 minutes. Also, even though they break up the track listing above, it's all on a single track, which really makes it feel like a complete set from start to finish. The great sound quality more than makes up for those very slight flaws."
One Track feature doesn't bother me.

"I've gotten this over the holidays, and thought it was great.
You actually feel like your at a concert, excluding the screaming and drama. Best of all , his voice is clear. Doom would be the last person I'd think voice would be clear live. But he seemed to be on point. You may find a lot of material from Operation Doomsday here, and One Beer. Personally, I love this CD.
Sometimes you hear the people shout his name
"MF, the SUPERVILLAIN!"
Yeah, it's great stuff. That great.
If you want something to add to your collection of "liveness" then this'll be great.
Definitely recommended."

"Great Show, Great Selections (tracks) and good audio for being Live at a NY lounge. Only thing is that the album has a messed up track listing and like the other reviewer noted it is one track, well worth the loot cakes tho ($).The correct song listing goes as follows Intro.
*Song Live Debut
Change the Beat, People-Places-Things, Dead Bent, Gas Drawls firt Verse (over Go w/ The Flow), Gas Drawls, Doomsday, Hey!, Accordian*, Curls*, Great Day*, Ryhmes Like Dimes, I hear Voices (pt.1), My Favorite Ladies, One Beer*, The Fine Print
And if you guys are huge fands of MF DOOM and dont know yet that hes Zev Love X, Then go cop yourself a KMD album (Black B_st_rds). For first timers go get Madvillian Madvilliany Ft Madlib on the Beats or Opperation Doomsday (if you can afford it!)"

"I have never ever liked live albums, what is the point, if I want to hear music being drowned out by people screaming and having the artist not performing like they do on their actual lp's I will actually make the effort and go to their concerts, but this album is the exception.MF Doom does not sound the same as he does on his studio albums but this is not him being rubbish on the contrary he just sounds different which in a way gives this album a fresh new spin even though he's going through his established tracks. The sound quality is brilliant which I have to say it is like you were there. The only bad thing I can really say about this album is that there is only one track meaning you cannot skip any of the songs which can be quite annoying if you want to listen to a particular track, but if you are a fan of Doom and you want another fix this is worthy but if you are new to MF DOOM then I advise that you try one of his other studio recorded albums first."
