CD Reviews

Ignore the poor reviews

"If you're a fan of axe-shredding and are curious to hear how fast it gets, this is your disc. No, Michael Angelo Batio cannot construct the musical masterpieces of Joe Satriani, but who can? Angelo is an okay songwriter in his own right (listen to the title track). Angelo and fellow fretboard wizard Shawn Lane are the world's fastest guitarists (faster than Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, and Michael Romeo, and those guys are FAST). Not only is Angelo fast, but every note he plays is clear. You'd swear a machine was playing this music, but it's in fact a man. Amazing!"
The master of Speed!

"Michael Angelo is the undisputed king of speed. If you don't believe me, check out "time traveler". The review titled "scrappy" is a little innaccurate. Michael's style is to play fast; that is what he does. If you listen to the songs themselves, not including the solos, you will find that Michael creates some very great music. "Planet Gemini" and "Far Reaches of Space" being primary examples. Michael has achieved a level of technical proficiency that not very many have. His speed is impressive, but what is even more impressive is his accuracy. I have seen him on video and he is for real. If you love prog-type music with supersonic solos that will leave breathless, check out this album. He amazes me everytime I listen. [url] has all of his solo cds. He is the king of speed!"
A true shred masterpiece

"Michael Angelo Batio is a master of vast musical epics. He plays with no boundaries on "Planet Gemini," a recording you will want to play over and over again. I really enjoyed it from the first listen and never get tired of it. If you are familiar with such guitarists as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and John Petrucci of Dream Theater, you will probably be blown away by Michael's high speed thrill rides on the fretboard. Michael is known as one of the fastest, most innovative and outrageous guitarists in the world, and he certainly proves it on this album. Not only with highly technical sweep arpeggios played at blazing speeds and fast picking runs that you have to hear to believe, but compositional aspects reminiscent of the great classical composers. I kid you not when I say prepared to be blown away. Top picks: Time Traveler, Jam Game, and pretty much every instrumental on this cd. You won't be dissapointed."
