"this is an excellent 2 for 1 deal.however cruisin for a bruisin may be recorded at the wrong speed.i have purchased it twice and both are speeded up.i have the lp and the difference is undeniable.the first half"hard place"is excellent.mike plays well.its live."

"I had "Between A Hard Place" on LP, and it is great. It contains some of the BEST slide playing I've ever heard, and Bloomfield was not known as a slide player, so either he held this back for years, or got into it rather later in his career.

"Big Chief," "Linda Lou," and especially "Between A Hard Place" are great cuts.

Bloomfield injects what I call a "zany humor" into his slide performances here. Is this his heritage coming through, the "joy of life?" I'd like to think so. It's so sad that he chose to keep using: we lost a great vehicle, who was carrying on the blues, and giving it his OWN spin, not slavishly re-creating records from the 40's & 50's.

On "Hard Place," Bloomfield shifts the shuffle rhythm into a kind of half-time "tuba" rhythm: I've heard him do this trick before (Live Adventures Vol. 2), and it is a funky thing indeed to behold!

This one (Hard Place) is my FAVORITE Bloomfield. Although Norman Dayron was not the best technician in the world, he was a sympathetic producer, and THANK GOD he got this Bloomfield performance on tape, before our beloved Mike went to the other side."
Finally, its here!!!!!!

"I bought these albums in the early 80's, when they were just out. Beteen a Rock and the Ground is Bloomfield at his most relaxed and loose setting, and it's LIVE also. It doesn't get any better than this. ENJOY!!"
