"This is a good album and if released in 1975 would have helpedMichael Bruce launch a solo career. Warner bros. were trying to keepthe Alice Cooper group together and must have decided to stop this one. Alice and compadres Bob Ezrin and Shep Gordon played it clever and got 'Welcome to my nightmare' released on Atlantic, giving them bargaining power. Although the first song is weak, the album picks up as it goes along and is full of the melodic style that Michael brought to the ACG. Not a bad start for what should have been an ongoing development. I think Michael intended this as a one-off originally as a break before returning to Alice but as history showed this was not to be and thus the 'Billion Dollar Babies' were formed. They brought out an excellent album 'battle axe' which unfortunately sank without trace... Another excellant album is Neal Smith's 'Platinum god' that can only be purchased via his web site... The bottom line is buy this from Amazon and buy the other two as well. You will not regret it. Definately the most talented rockers to come out of America."
Anybody know where i can find a billion dollar babies album?

"This is,apparently the original CD release of former Alice Cooper Group guitarist Michael Bruce's unreleased 1974 lp. It's recently been reissued as 'In My Own Way - The Complete Sessions' 2-CD expanded edition(see my review). If you're not highly into 'extra' tracks and re-edits, then this disc may be the one for you. Specially with the $1.99 used price. If you can, ALSO check out Bruce's 'Halo Of Ice' import CD. It's a must-have for any and all Alice Cooper fans."
What a disappointment

"Michael Bruce was an essential part of the Alice Cooper group. However his attempt at a solo album falls flat! The CD seems poorly produced & mixed sounding very weak & tinny. It does have it's moments "Lucky Break" & "If the Sky should fall" are good but songs like "King of America" and the title track are sickening to listen to. It's an ok disk but anyone hopin that Michael recaptured some of the magic that was the Alice Cooper group will be VERY disappointed."
Awesome CD from a key member of the Alice Cooper Group

"Michael Bruce wrote many of the best songs contained on the Alice Cooper Group's classic early '70's albums, including "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Be My Lover." This album contains numerous solid rockers as well as ballads. Excellent songwriting and music throughout. Highly recommended."
